Camp Overviews

For six years, LiveWire hosted robotics summer camps in both Pocatello and Twin Falls. In Twin Falls, students ages 7 to 14 had the opportunity to build, design, and program their own Lego Mindstorm NXT robots. They learned about teamwork, coopertition, and gracious professionalism while competing in an original cooperative game.

In Pocatello, LiveWire traditionally offers a VEX robotics camp for students 10 and up. Campers learn how to design, build, and program VEX robots, while improving teamwork skills and “coopertition"™. Camp culminates in an original competitive game where two alliances of two robots each compete against one another. Starting in 2013, LiveWire began to annually offer a LEGO NXT camp in Pocatello as well, modeled after the camps in Twin Falls.

All camps are designed and mentored by students and coaches of the LiveWire team.

2011 Twin Falls Summer Camp

Herrett Center for the Arts and Science, College of Southern Idaho,
Twin Falls, Idaho, June 2011

LiveWire traveled approximately 100 miles to Twin Falls for a few days to put on a workshop at the Herrett Cener on the College of Southern Idaho campus. In three days, we taught 30 students from Twin Falls, Hailey, Burley, Paul, Jackson, Jerome, Kimberly, and Hagerman how to build and program LEGO NXT robots to compete in our own orignial cooperative game, Rectangle Rumble. We had a lot of fun and it was great to be able to introduce so many students to robotics and FIRST.
